Book Review The Sorcerers Stone

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1)Author: J.K. Rowling
Series: Harry Potter Series
Star rating out of 5: 5 stars

Okay, I know I know, I am over ten year too late in reading these books. However I absolutely love the movies and had to read the books.

This review is going to be a lot different due to the movies already out and finished and same with this book series.

I was amazed by how much they combined in the movies. The scenes that are over ten pages in the book were fitted into just ten minutes onto a movie screen. Yes, I know this is two make sure the film does not go to over 5 hours in length and so on. What I love about the book was the detail. Especially the beginning of the book where we are introduced to Harry's uncle prior to actually knowing anything about Harry. Then just the little detail the were changed in the movie. The book answer so many little questions that I never realized were actually missing during the film.

I am so glad that I read the book because it has so much more information and trouble they get into in the books. I highly recommend reading this book. I will let you know in my next review how the series progess in the books.

Happy reading!

Book Review Into the Dreaming

Into the Dreaming (with bonus material)Author: Karen Marie Moning
Series: The highlander series and Fever Series
Star Rating out of 5: 4 stars

I read this book actually a couple years ago when I borrowed it from a friend when I first started reading both of these series. I thought the story was short and sweet. It was interesting for sure.

In this book I love reading the special out takes after the writer took a book into a different direction.

It is a nice transition book from the highlander series(which I completely love and adore compared to her fever series. Sorry Barrons.) to the fever series.

I recommend reading this and her previous books as well.

Happy reading!

Nauti Temptress Book Review

Author: Lora Leigh
Nauti Temptress (Nauti Girls, #1)Series: Nauti Girls
Star Rating out of 5: 5 stars

This is a wonderful spin off to the Nauti Boi series. It has all the elements that we come to know and love with Rowdy, Dawg and Natches.

I love the humor and the romance of these books. Not to mention of the danger element mixed in. Both of the main characters in this book are well developed but leaves you wanting to dig even more into their lives. Not to mention I would love to get to know Brody on a more personal level! YUMMY! Eve is a great match for him. she is strong willed, has a mind of her own but also has a strong family bond. Something Brody needs in his life to keep him in line.

I highly recommend this book especially if you are a fan of the Nauti Boi series. You will not be disappointed. I can't wait for the next book!

Going for It by Liz Matis book review

Going For ItAuthor: Liz Matis
Series: "Fantasy" Football Series 2
Star Rating out of 5: 3 stars

Let first of by saying this more I feel of a novella rather than a book. The story is short and picks up where "Playing for Keeps" ended. However, even though this is a short book it was too the point without being overly drawn out.

The story of Hannah and Ryan also like the previous book felt relate-able other than the professions. The insecurities not wanting your heart to fall for someone who can break it. Especially since both of these characters have a very rough past. through this book we learn more about them and as we do we watch them transform and begin to learn how to do stuff they never though they would ever do. Not to mention I love the ending to this story.

Please read these books in sequence in order to get to know the characters and their stories. They are very enjoyable.

Happy Reading!!

Playing For Keeps by Liz Matis Book Review

Playing For KeepsTitle: Playing for Keeps
Series: "Fantasy" Football Season 1
Author: Liz Matis
Star Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

When I read this book I felt that anyone could have lived it. Yes it's not very common to know and grow up with a famous model friend or a famous football player but it has happened to people who are not me. The book is short but complete. It's nice because it's not a series and the story can be completed. There is really no wondering what will happen next. Which is a nice break from all the other series I read that have over ten books in a series.

In this book You meet Samantha and Ryan who have known each other since their teen years. In this book they rekindle their friendship and then some. I liked Ryan a lot. He has such a great personality and I wish I could meet a guy like him. He is very witty and when he wants something he doesn't stop till he gets it. Of course being a guy he always has to question his thoughts and how he feels and that's typical. Any other way and he would be a male. Samantha is very closed off but not as much as her friend Hannah. She goes through a traumatic experience and doesn't really deal well. She just wants to fit in with one of the guys and make a name for herself and will do anything to achieve her goal.

I recommend this book. If you want to read a book that is a nice and simple read this is that book.

Happy Reading!

Rapture by J.R. Ward Book Review

Rapture (The Fallen Angels, #4)Title: Rapture
Author: J.R. Ward
Series: The fallen Angel Series
Star rating out of 5: 5 stars

Sorry this review took longer than normal to get up. I was only reading about and hour and fifteen minutes a day.

Anyways, I loved this book. I have to say this is the best book in the series for me. It made me cry, get angry, fall in love, and be sad and happy. It was a roller coaster of emotions. I feel that is why this book surpassed the others. Not only did the main character and soul have a bad past we finally got to see the real side of him. Also, we got to see more into each of the main reoccurring characters. We get to see what makes them tick, what gives them drive, and what also makes them loose their minds.I am grateful that the story had taken this turn from the last book. In the last book no one really knew who the soul was until the last minute. Well.... maybe that was just me. Matthias truly needed his own story and Ward did an amazing job telling it. The way she did it in fractions rather than in one whole made the story. It gave me something to look forward to. No one really knew who he was. Only the he was Matthias (the f****r) a true @ hole.

Now onto the heroine, Mels Carmichael. This lady is kick ass. She knows how to hold her own because her daddy taught her everything she needed to know to keep herself safe. On the other hand there are times when I wanted to throw the book across the room and others when I put my palm to my forehead and said" wtf? really?! did you seriously just do that? How could you?".  Though in her situation it was a bit understandable where she was coming from but from my perspective it was wow. In the end I still liked her regardless.

Overall this book is a must read in the series. I would have read it sooo much quicker had in not been for my new job and with being sick recently. The fact that part of it made me shed some tears is what made me love this book the most. If a book can make you do that, the author has definitely succeeded in doing her job in writing an amazing book.

Can't wait for the next book. The parts I did not talk about I can't wait to see how they go in the next.

Happy Reading!!

ARC Review of The Rising

The Rising (Darkness Rising, #3)Author: Kelley Armstrong
Series: Darkness Rising Trilogy book 3
Star Rating out of 5: 4 stars

Let me first start by saying that I won this ARC through Kelley Armstrong's news letter. If you have not read any of her books I strongly recommend you do. Especially her Darkest Powers Trilogy and her Darkness Rising Trilogy. They are wonderful to get into and read. They keep you wondering what will happen next.

I will not get into to many details about this book because it will just give away all the secrets and ruin much of the book. Which I feel is the reason why Kelley Armstrong does not post many previews to the book.

The third and final book in this series keeps you on your seat. I loved this book. I love how it differed from the Darkest Powers ending of that book. However the way it ended was not what I imagined and that is a great thing. The book makes you angry, sad, happy, anxious, love all when you need to feel those proper emotions. It also is fast paced when it needs to be keeping you on the edge of your seat. Then when it is slow is makes you wonder just what obstacle will happen next and what road block they will have to get by to complete the task they need to achieve.

This book is the perfect ending to this series. I don't think I would change it. However, besides the ending there was another I was not suspecting to happen but did. When the books is released it is a must buy!!!

Happy Reading!

The Curse book review

Author: Sherrilyn Kenyon & Dianna Love
The Curse (Belador #3)Series: The Beladors book 3
Rating out of 5: 4 Stars

The Curse by Sherrilyn Kenyon is book 3 in The Beladors series. It is a great addition to the series.  Picking up shortly after it left off in the previous book. In this book you meet a few new characters and a new kinds of "non humans". We also get a little more info on the Beladors. The book takes you on a crazy roller coaster of emotions. The emotions I felt when Evalle was thinking about Sen and the Tribunal made my anger fly right off the charts. In other parts I felt like Evalle had lived a part of my life when it came to relationships. You could be happy one minute and pissed in another. That is what makes a book great.

Since this book is very continuous and there is a lot that could spoil a book I want to keep this short.

However, I will say this I am torn between Storm and Isak. We get to see more of them. The last book I was pro Storm same with the first book. Now I am leaning more toward Isak but it is still a close call.

Alone Time Short Story review

Author: Lauren Dane
Alone Time (Visits to Petal, Part 1)Series: Chase Brothers and Petal Georgia
Star rating out of 5: 3 stars

This is a cute addition to the Chase Brothers and Petal Georgia series. It updates you on how everyone is doing. It's nice to know what is going on over there. I love these series.

Love by Design Book Review

Love By DesignAuthor: Liz Matis
Star rating out of 5: 4 stars

I received this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. I am so glad that I did. I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, lovable, enjoyable and sexy. I enjoyed it so much I immediately bought her other two books.

This book revolves around Victoria Bryce a local socialite who is trying to get away from the family name and to try to create her own name with her home designs. She is a strong female but also has issues letting herself feel for people. Eventually we get to see the ice thaw which is nice.

Russ is a sexy, flirty, and funny Australian man who goes to the states hoping to start a new life and escape his past. He joins Victoria on her show Design Intervention as a co host. The sparks fly between these two. He also has issues when it comes to trust and love.

The banter between these two is guaranteed you to laugh. Within the first three chapters I was laughing so hard my face started hurting. Also, you feel the love these two slowly start to built throughout the book. I love the ending it just made it all the better. If you are looking for a short and fun read this is your book. I highly recommend it.

Dead To You book review.

Dead to YouAuthor: Lisa McMann
Series: Not part of a series
Star Rating out of 5: 4 stars

Wow. Words cannot not properly describe this book. It is on the level of Lovely Bones. It was deeply disturbing and very dark. I felt like crying because this kid is just so lost. I can't really talk much about it or it would just give the book away. Just reading the end made my heart just stop. I was really hoping for the best to turn out but wow.

Sorry this isn't much of a review. You just have to give the book a try to see for yourself what it's about.

Bluegrass State of Mind Book Review

Bluegrass State of Mind (Bluegrass, #1)Author: Kathleen Brooks
Series: A Bluegrass Novel
Star Rating out of 5: 4 stars

I found this book on Barnes and Nobles website as a free read. I am so glad that I downloaded it. It is lighthearted, fun, but also a mix of the danger.

This book revolves around Attorney McKenna Mason who has just witnessed a major crime and is now on the run. Leaving everything she knows. She winds up in Keeneston looking for a job and an old friend from her childhood. Throughout the book we find out little by little what drove her to the small town.

The book is from only one person's point of view and also just so everyone know there is no sex scenes. I know, I know, sad but it is also good because even with the little intimate moments leading up to the moment you know it's going to happen. I feel that this book was wonderful how it was written. So if you are looking for those explicit sex scenes you will not find it in this book.

Also what made me love the book even more is that the character grew up in my hometown of Liverpool, NY just outside of Syracuse. It's not often that you find author's that have heard of those little town's in upstate NY let alone create a character from those parts. That made this book that much more special to me.

I love Kenna because she is a strong female character and a kick ass attorney who will know men right off their feet in the courtroom. Just like she knocks her childhood friend Will Aston's socks off. She may have run but she had her reasons to keep low until the time is right.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series about Mo and Danielle!!

A must read!

Bound (Arelia La Rue Novel #1) Book Review

Bound (Arelia LaRue, #1)Author: Kira Saito
Series: Arelia LaRue Novel #1
Star rating out for 5: 2 stars

I found this book on Barnes and Noble another free read. I am mixed on how I feel. I feel that it could have had much more potential.

The story plot is about a sixteen year old girl who is on summer vacation and takes a job at one of Louisana's plantation that is notoriously haunted. Arelia does not go alone though she ends up going with her best friend Sabrina. During the course of the weeks at the plantation she learns about her history and who and why she is the way she is. Thre is a set task for her and she has to figure out if she is strong enough to handle it.

My biggest issue with the book was Sabrina. Sabrina is rich spoiled little brat who at sixteen in searching for a husband already. She feels she in entitled to whatever she wants regardless. What makes it worse is that the book is just filled with tension and you just know that the main character will be walking on egg shells throughout the book when meeting Arelia's best friend.

Otherwise I felt this book could have been so much more. I know that there is always going to be someone we hate in a book but it was to the point where I almost threw my nook across the room. I felt Arelia and the dark and dangerous Lucas have so much chemistry even though we never really got to see them actually together except for those rare moments. Arelia has self esteem issues it seems like. It's as if she feels that she is not entitled to anything when it's sitting right in front of her. Lucas well I like him but I can't give to much away about him.

I am debating if I should read the second book. I will have to think on that. I would give it a go maybe other readers will enjoy it more. I think this is also more a teen book rather than someone my age. However I must say I do love my YA!

Happy reading!

Bloodstorm Book Review

Author: Amber Kallyn
Bloodstorm (Heart of a Vampire, Book 1)Series: Vampires Heart Book 1
Star rating out of Five: 4 stars

I will begin by saying I found this on Barnes and Nobles website as a free read. As you are all aware I am very skeptical of some of the free reads out there. This is yet another that has been able to break my barrier.

The story line for this book deals with Nicola DeVeraux on a search to find the man that killed her family so she can put them at rest. In the midst of searching for this man she walks into a bar and immediately locks eyes with local town Sheriff Shane Spencer. We also get to meet a lot of other town folks who hopefully will play a role in upcoming books.

I thoroughly enjoy this book. I liked the story line and I felt as if I got a pretty good sense of who these characters were. Niki and Shane are a cute couple. I liked their banter and how each one didn't let the other one get away with stuff. What I also liked was that the author didn't write the characters as immediately saying I love you even thought here were certain elements pulling these two together. It makes you feel like their relationship still needs evolving.

I highly recommend this book.

Orphans, Wolves & Loving it Short story review

Author: KaeJae Fox
Star review out of five: 3 stars

Okay I will first start off stating this was a free book I picked up on B&N website. On b&n website the complete short story is told on the one listed chapters 1-3. The story itself is fifteen chapters. This puzzles me not sure why they were separated but it does not matter.

I thought the story was interesting. I enjoyed the characters I felt that they could have used a little more background but it is only a short story. I liked the connection between the two main characters. I liked how Lauren stood up to Tyler without backing down. She is truly an Alpha human female and very compatible to his Alpha wolf. I wish I knew more about the twins. They were adorable on how they tried to do their best to make Lauren feel good even though she is a horrible cook.

Over all I recommend this short story there isn't too much drama not that much sex but the banter throughout the book that builds up to the moment is wonderful. A must try!

Archangel's Storm Book Review

Archangel's Storm (Guild Hunter, #5)Author: Nalini Singh
Series: Guild Hunter Series
Star Rating out of 5: 5 STARS

Let me first give you a little about the plot. Neha's consort is brutally murdered leaving Jason having to go in and investigate what happened. In order for him to do this he has to do a blood-vow with Mahiya. Throughout the book we get snippets of what Mahiya is to Neha and her role in the court. We also get snippets of why Jason has become who he has. Eventually the entire tale is unfolded.

Wow. Another wonderful installment of The Guild Hunter Series. I am so happy to see Raphael's Seven falling in love one by one. I kind of miss Raphael and Elena's story but I just keep wanting to know more about the others. This book Follow's Raphael's infamous spymaster Jason. Let me tell you it does not disappoint. I felt hate, love, sadness, and pain.

This is the first book in this series to make me cry. When you finally read the full tale behind Jason it will leave you in tears. I would never imagine the pain he felt or how scared he could have been with what had happened. I could not stop crying because I could just see it so clearly. No child should have gone through that. With that he feels he will never be able to unlock his heart to ever be able to feel ever again. He tells Mahiya upfront that he can never give her what she needs.

Mahiya is a strong female in her own right. She really needs to be with how she grew up and how she was/is treated. Not to mention she needs to be able to hold her own with Jason. He will not accept someone who is weak. I liked her spunk and how intelligent she is. Always thinking on her toes and knowing when to tread carefully and when not to.

This book has it's twists and turns and some real shockers! We even get to see a bit of Venom in this book! Hopefully we get to see his book soon. Anyways. I can't wait for the next book coming out next year. Such a long wait......

Happy Reading!!

Dreamless(Starcrossed #2) Book Review

Dreamless (Starcrossed, #2)Author: Josephine Angelini
Series: Starcrossed
Star Rating out of 5: 4 stars

I enjoyed this book much more than the first book Starcrossed. However there were parts that just frustrated me and wanted to slap some of the characters for idiocy.

This story picks up a couple days after the aftermath the what happened in the previous book with the big fight that led to deaths and a towns destruction. In this story Helen descends into the Underworld to try to help the Furies and break the age of curse of the four family houses. The curse is a blood feud each time a person of the opposite house sees each other they feel the furies hatred and try to kill each other. The only way to end this is by helping the furies in the underworld. This pretty much takes place throughout the entire book. We meet new characters. Orion who is the Heir to two houses, Morpheus, then we also meets some others who are the bad guys. Also throughout the book we see Helen and Lucas fighting their need to be with each other and also coming into some more unknown powers. We also find out that something said in the previous book is not true. This is what really pissed me off the most. I wanted to slap the person.

Let me tell you though people may be pulling for Lucas and Helen but I am pulling for Orion and Helen. When we meet Orion in the book I immediately fell for him. There just something so much more about him that I liked. He treats Helen wonderfully and will do anything to help and protect her. Others will probably tell that Lucas will too and their situation is sad and that's the reason why they should be together. If Orion doesn't get to be with her then I hope I get to see his book next!!

PS: Morpheus..... Yum the dream god.

Sorry for such a short review. I did enjoy this book. I liked that we meet some many more characters. We get to see their powers evolve in this book. We also see new information revealed. For this I cannot talk about or it will ruin the book. I highly recommend reading this sequel. Can't wait for the next one.

Happy reading!

American Assassin Book Review

American Assassin (Mitch Rapp #1)Author: Vince Flynn
Series: Mitch Rapp Book 1
Stars: 4 stars

I must say I have been sitting on this series for four years. My boyfriend loves these books. I heard they were making this into a movie and thought I need to read it before it ever comes out. Plus it would give me something to talk to my boyfriend about. He has been trying to get me to read these books forever and since I was in the mood for something new last week I gave this a try. I have to say the writing style I had to get used to. When changes POV's he doesn't break like female authors would when switching between female and male views. Instead they are kinda jumbled so sometimes I had to reread the paragraph to figure out who is talking. Other than this small setback I enjoy the story.

I have to say I am glad I did. The humor is great. The American men are awesome. I love Mitch Rapp. I do wish I could slap him sometimes for not using common sense in some situations such as when he meets a friend of Hurley's granddaughter and what transpires from there. He didn't really think much with his head but that's to be expected of a 23 year whether your an assassin or not. Other than those couple of times I thought Rapp was smart, and methodical. He really gave his instructors a run for their money. Especially Hurley who didn't really think much of him. Throughout the book we learn more about the terrorists who have the american hostages and then men who are the american assassins targets. We meet a lot of characters and I am looking forward to learning more about them hopefully in the next books.

I don't normally post quotes from books but I will post this one. It made me laugh a lot when I read it.
"You going to take a swing at me Victor? Rapp egged the big man on. He was ready to end this now. " What's wrong... your mom the neighborhood slut when you were growing up... she didn't hold you enough when you were little? She let ever guy she met suck on her tit except you?"

I know the quote is highly inappropriate from some to read but I mean come on guys say some pretty screwed up stuff to egg other guys on. That includes saying vile things about moms. LMFAO. There are other paragraphs later on where they are talking about a banker in Germany and the way Hurley describes him also made me laugh a lot.

Though I would like to caution, if you are not big on reading interrogation techniques I would say read really quickly. Otherwise it's not too bad but some will make you cringe and be thankful your not in that position. At least it gets the job done. Unfortunately in this book it was on the wrong team.

I recommend this book. It's not just for men. I recommend women read it as well.

Happy reading!

Fury (New Species Book #1) Book Review

Fury (New Species, #1)Author: Laurann Dohner
Series: New Species
Stars: 4 stars

Let me first off by saying I was worried this would have been too similar to Lora Leigh's breed series. However, I was very wrong about this. I am glad Laurann Dohner left a few things out that would have made it way to much like The breeds. I will not list them because it would give some things away. Why would I do that?

Now onto the good stuff. This story take place in Southern California. Elise who was sent to obtain records regarding New Species sees subject 416 and does everything she can to keep him alive even if it means betraying him so she can get the information out or Mercile Industries. Fury has a past he is ashamed of and does not like to remember. He has vowed to kill one person when he sees her. The moment he does everything changes.

Throughout the story we get to see the relationship between Fury and Elise grow. We also see the relationship with the female New Species and Elise grow as well. But with those growing relationships comes danger both in and outside of Homeland. Between the all the anger and sadness we are met with love, and passion.

All in all I can't wait to read the next book. I want to learn more about Breeze, Halfpint, Justice, and Tiger. These are just some of the other characters we meet.

Happy reading!

Long time no post.

Sorry everyone. I know there hasn't been a review in a while. A lot of stuff going on. Lately I have been paying attention to politics. Yeah I will not going into any details because this isn't the blog. I will just make a comment about how it is a sad how people are so vicious.

Anyways, I am currently in the process of reading American Assassin by Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp series book 1. I am half way through it. I will say this it is different than my romance novels that have our black ops guy in them. But even so I am still enjoying the book. Mitch Rapp is amazing and I think everyone should give this series a try. A book review is on its way within the week.

Also in other book news Archangels Storm by Nalini Singh was released today! Go out and buy it!!!

Beneath a Rising Moon Book Review

Author: Keri Arthur
Series: Ripple Creek series Book 1
Released: 2003 but released under Dell books in 2012
Star Rating: 4 stars
Audience: 18 and older

I enjoyed this book. I am glad Keri Arthur had it re-released so that those of us who never had the chance to read them can. This series was created before the time of Riley Jensen's world. It is still enjoyable and has the wit, danger, and love of her other series. However, the difference from her newer books is that is has both the male and female view points. I really liked this. I finally got to see through the eyes of the men in her world. Whereas her newer series we only see through the heroine's eyes. But I will say this, the book is not for those under the age of 18. There is sex and a lot of it but it does not overwhelm and take away from the actual story.

The story starts off with Neva Grant who is looking for the person who attempted to kill her sister and has murdered three others. In order to do this she feels she has to get into bed with one of the famous Sinclair's. While in the process of this, she battles her feelings for Duncan Sinclair throughout the book. Her father despises the Sinclair's because of the Moon Dance's and feels a wolf should wait until they meet their soul mate in order to complete the bonding process. So this affect's the way she reacts to Duncan toward the end of the book. We also see the strong connection she has to him and also to her sister Savannah. Little does she know she is treading fine water with the murderer.

Duncan Sinclair. I really liked him. Yes, he treated Neva a bit rudely in the beginning but that is understandable because he didn't understand her reasoning for seeking him out. But once he finds it all out it's as if everything snaps together with him. The tension was so thick between the two you could cut it with a knife.

All in all I enjoyed this book. I figured out who the killer was quickly but even though I did the reveal still made me shake my head and say "why?". If you are a fan of her books this is another must read series.

Can't wait for the next book regarding her sister Savannah.

Happy reading!

Disney characters

http://s1.favim.com/orig/23/beast-beauty-beauty-and-the-beast-belle-disney-Favim.com-214542.jpg
Beauty and the Beast Wallpaper - beauty-and-the-beast WallpaperThere is a day in almost every little girls life when she is first introduced to her first love. Usually these involve Disney characters when we are younger. Most fall for Prince Charming but I on the other hand fell for the Beast.

Yes, most would say this is unhealthy to be in love with some fictional character who was a larger version of a wolf for most of the movie. I say that is was just foreshadowing my love for those characters who are a little extra different from the rest of us.

Beauty and the Beast Wallpaper - beauty-and-the-beast WallpaperI remember the first time I saw Beauty and the Beast. We still had VHS tapes and had to watch them on our tiny tube tv's. I cried when Gaston stabbed Beast in his side and then fell over the ledge. I was amazed by how much strength he had left to crawl back up the side of the castle to Belle. Belle helping him to the ground and how she tells him she loves him and a single tear falls down her cheek on to Beast and gives him a kiss as he breathed his last breath. By now I am bawling my eyes out asking my mom how can they kill him. You have Miss Potts, Chip, Lumiere, Cogsworth all looking on saddened that the spell would never be broken. Then a miracle happens, sparks start shooting onto the terrace and Beast is magically little up and light came out of his body and he turns back into a human. As a child my heart was pounding so hard and I couldn't stop shouting how amazing that is and that magic is a powerful thing. That Belle and Beast will have their happy ever after. That moment of transition is still the most magical moment to me even as an adult. I still love this move and will forever until the end of time. When I have a daughter that will be the first Disney movie she will see.

http://images1.fanpop.com/images/photos/1700000/Beauty-the-Beast-beauty-and-the-beast-1712997-960-540.jpgAs an adult I feel that the movie also teaches you a lot. Such as don't just people by their appearances. They are very deceiving. Always try to look beyond it because you can always find something good about a person. Also for girls Belle projected a girl who loved reading which showed being smart is a good thing. It also means that she didn't have to settle for someone such as Gaston who only saw her as eye candy rather than a smart intellectual female. Belle is the ultimate "I don't need to depend on a male" female when it comes to Disney characters. Not put down Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping beauty and Ariel but those characters actually needed saving. Big time saving by their prince charming's. However, Belle didn't need to so much. The only time she needed saving was when the wolves attacked but even them she took care of Beast after he was deeply injured and then she went to save him again when the villagers attacked. This was very appealing to me as a little girl and still is.

There are times when I wish they would make a movie of Beast and Belle with kids. I would have loved to see how it all turned out. But that's just the hopeless romantic in me. Always wanting to know where it ended up.

This was my favorite movie. Who was your first love? Did that movie foreshadow what you now read? I am only talking about Disney character's not human movies. Maybe later on I will go into my love for the movie "The Crow" with Brandon Lee but not right now.

Until next time...

The Man Within book review

The Man Within (Breeds, #2; Feline Breeds, #2)Author: Lora Leigh
Series: Feline Breeds book 2
Star Rating out of 5: 3 stars

I know, I know some of you may think my star rating for this book is low but it fits how I feel the book was at for me. I love the breeds i have loved them since my first glimpse of Cabal St. Laurents in Coyotes Mate. Yes, I did read the books out of order but once I realized that they had an order I read Bengals Heart then read the books as I found them at the books store. So which ever was available at the time I read. Therefore, I never got the chance to read her much earlier books from Ellora's Cave. I had read all of her newest books first. Which brings me to my rating. I don't feel that this book is as great as her newer work which is good because it shows she is growing in writing. I felt that there was not enough story line besides the mating. Yes, I know the mating is extremely important because that's what ties our two main characters together. However, you really didn't get a sense at who was breaching the grounds and what they truly wanted. Did they want Merinus and Roni or did they just want one or the other? I got the meanign and the jist of the story but it didn't make me love the chracter's like I fellt for Cabal , Merc, and Cassie in the newest books.

Roni (Veronica) grew up learning how to fend for herself since her mother passed away and her dad was a deadbeat. Through most of her teen years there had always been one constant in her life Taber Matthews. Her knight and shining armor. The story starts off with a scene from for years prior to when the actual main story picks up. We get to see the attraction between the two and then bam something happens. Then picks up four years later when Merinus and Callan announce to the world about the breeds that had been created. Soon Roni is caught up with press and is swept away by the breeds and brought back to the mansion that they were given to by the government. As time goes by we learn new bits and pieces about what happened, how things happened and much more that would ruin the story if I just give it away.

Roni, I feel is headstrong, she can be smart but an idiot at the same time. As most breed mates feel she also feels. As if she has been forced with this heat. She wished that there was a cure to it all. You can tell she loves Taber but it takes her a long while to get over her past and move on with the present. Though she is selfless, she would give her life up for Merinus in a heart beat. This shows heart and courage since she hasn't know the woman long. All in all she is not that bad of a female just not my favorite :)!

Taber is an alpha male who likes things his way or no way. He will do anything in his power to have it his way. Even if it includes pissing off his mate Roni. I liked him because he put her first. Even if it means pissing her off and keeping her in the house.

I recommend this book because in order to get a feel for all the characters in a series where they are continuously popping up you must read all the books. Even if that includes the much earlier ones that are much harder and more expensive to find. Not to mention Mercury, Cabal, Tanner, Dawn, and Seth all make appearances this this book. Foreshadowing what books will be coming up in the future of the series!

Once Bitten Book Review

Once Bitten (Alexa O’Brien, Huntress, #1)Author: Trina M. Lee
Series: Alexa O'Brien, Huntress Series
Star rating: 4 stars

I found this book on Amazon as a free read. As most free reads I am skeptical of whether or not it will be good or lack a plot. This is another writer who has slowly changed my views. Not only did it have plot but the feelings that the writer brought up in me were crazy. I felt, lust, hate, anger, love, sadness, and many more emotions.

The story revolves around a werewolf named Alexa who was changed when she was just a little girl who watched her parents die. She survived the change from the bite the wolf left her with. Later on in the series we find out who this wolf is and the reasons behind it. Though it's no9t till the very end of the book. I on the other hand had my suspicions throughout the book and needless to say I was right about who it was. Throughout the book there are dead lover's of her former Alpha's showing up and no one knows who is doing it. On the side of this Alexa is drawn to Arys a vampire who hold power. Their relationship is complicated as well as her relationship with pack mate Shaz.

Let me start off with saying I wish Arys was a real person if I had that type of connection with someone I would not let it go. Not ever for a wolf I thought I was in love with. No way no how. Yes he has a deep and dark past but what vampire doesn't? I mean honestly. Yes, he has his fair share of women but that is in the nature of all supernatural beings. You can tell he cares for Alexa the first time you meet him in the bar. The way he watches her, the way he wants her, not to mention the fact he always wants to come to her rescue. But because Alexa doesn't really want a relationship he is willing to back off. I mean really he couldn't get any better....

Now let me go onto Shaz, pack mate and white wolf. They have know each other for a long while. He has been in love with her from the beginning. He is a bit bland though for me. I just don;t see what she sees in him to make her want him mow that Arys. Yes, Shaz is a nice guy with a good heart and is a wolf. If it were me it would not be enough though.

Alexa, Alexa, Alexa, what am I going to do with you? She made me want to punch her so many times it was ridiculous. I can't even put into words how I feel about her because it is so mixed. I wish she would just pick one guy (arys) and put the other one out of his misery. You shouldn't string two men along. It's not nice. Frankly she is already tied to one man in more ways than one so that should be the choice!!!

I can't really go into details anymore without giving away crucial points about the characters. It would just ruin it. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the second in this series!!

Book rearranging

I think its time to make some more room. There are a lot of good books coming out and some complete the series and some authors just have multiple books coming out in the next few months and next year. The pictures do not do any justice as to how many books I actually have since some are stacked on top of others and put in front of others. Not to mention how many I have on my nook.

Actually I plan on making a post about the pros and cons to having a nook and paperback/hardcover soon. Anyways updates on the final process will be up soon....

Born of Ashes Book Review

Born of Ashes (The World of Ascension #4)Author: Caris Raone
Series: The world of Ascension
Star Rating: 3

Don't get me wrong I enjoy this series but this book was not on the level the others were. It was still a good book in it's own right but I had hoped for more.

The series picks up where the last book leaves off almost. When Fiona and Jean-Pierre meet in the hospital for the first time. This book deals with the trauma Fiona suffer's at Rith's hands. As we found out in the previous book Fiona was drained of her blood to death and then repeatedly brought back to life. Also known as dying blood and is highly addictive. The trauma she suffered follows her everywhere including into her new relationship. This is what made the book hard to get through. She is very resistant to everything. I don't blame her it's not her fault but it was very frustrating at times. Especially when I feel that if she just let's go she would feel much better.

Jean-Pierre was also hurt in the past by a loved one. This prevent's him from fully opening himself up to Fiona the way he should. He was a trooper giving the space and time that Fiona needed even when it hurt him in the process.

In the end there is love, bloodshed, revenge, exploration, new found gift's and lots of love to be had in this book. I enjoyed the ending very much.

The next book Thorne and Marguerite will be interesting. We did get to see quite a bit of them in this book. I have a feeling though I am going to want to knock Marguerite out though.

We also got to see more of Endelle. I can't wait for her book in the end. It will be quite interesting.

Dark Frost Book review

Author: Jennifer Estep
Dark Frost (Mythos Academy, #3)Series: Mythos Academy
Star rating: Four stars

This book picks up a little after the last book. With the ski trip going wrong, almost dying at the hands of Preston. The story picks up with the gang at the museum to look at artifacts for a homework assignment. While Daphne, Oliver, Gwen and Logan are looking at the weapons mass chaos erupts. Reaper's storm in looking for something and leaving destruction in their wake. Gwen has a run in with her mother's killer. Lives are lost, chaos ensues, and the world changes in just a few weeks in this book.

In this book there are a lot of emotions to process. Gwen unfortunately yet again is at the center of it all. The reaper's want her for two things. Those two things are not good. Unfortunately she doesn't know this and unknowingly follows what she does best. Putting herself into bad situations and putting strains on her relationships. In the end we find more about her mother, her grandmother, Loki, and Nike's plan for her all along.

This book was good but at time I felt angered by Gwen, and many of the other characters because they all treated each other like crap. In the end everything works itself out as most all do. I recommend reading this book. The series is definitely building and I can't wait for the next book to see what happens next!

Golden Lily Review from Goodreads Date June 13th, 2012

The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2)The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stupid computer. I had this long review and now it is gone. So since I don't remember what I said I will give a short review.

I was never a big fan of Rose and Dmitri so therefore I feel Bloodlines will surpass Vampire Academy in my opinion. Especially with all the obstacles Sydney and Adrian will have to overcome to be with each other. They have to get past the mental shields and teaching Sydney was corrupted with as a child. Adrian will have to slowly break her barriers to reach her. Sydney will have to overcome so many fears. Fears of using magic. Fears of how she feels about Adrian. She has so much to break through. Most of it will be mental. With Adrian it will be showing her how she can slowly overcome it by helping her little by little.

First off I did not like Brayden he was boring and doesn't understand that with Sydney her "family" comes first. And with that him saying she is irresponsible was him just being an even bigger idiot. The fact that he couldn't see past the inconsistencies and see that she was beautiful in her costumes made me dislike him even more. I could not believe Sydney would continue to date him even though she couldn't understand why she didn't feel any sparks.

Anyways. My love for Adrian grew 100x more in this book. Adrian showed me how much of a great guy he is in this book. From the way he slowly hints to Sydney she is beautiful to the way he defends her when she feels she doesn't want to do anything.

Sydney you can tell has a thing for Adrian she just doesn't even realize it because she is to naive. I feel though that once she gets away from her fears and interacts more with her "family" she will be a hard person to mess with.

Anyways, I don't know what more to say other than the last chapter of the book is the most amazing aside from the scene where they are driving back from seeing Adrian's father. I loved this book more than the first. Can't wait for the next.

Frostbite Graphic Novel Review

Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Vampire Academy Graphic Novel's
Adapted by: Leigh Dragoon
Illustrated by: Emma Vieceli
Star Rating: Five stars

Frostbite is the second graphic novel to be adapted from the Vampire Academy Series. If you have not read the actual book series. I recommend that you do. There is so much more in the books that you just are not able to put into a graphic novel.

The story of this book/graphic novel is someone is picking of the royal families one at a time. The strigoi (the bad vampire's that kill human's moroi and dhampir's to gain strength) are using the unexpected to achieve this. We run into love, anger, loss, and unexpected achievement's.

In this we meet new character's.

Janine Hathaway: Rose Hathaway's mother and Guardian to one of the royal families.

Adrian Ivashkov: Lissa's cousin. Also has special abilities but if you have not read the books I will not mention what. (Also this is my favorite character in this entire series.)

Tasha Ozera: Christian's aunt and survivor of strigoi attack. (Later on in the series she plays a major role in the series.)

I loved that they were able to adapt this book into images so well without leaving out too much the important stuff. Though the ending still get's me every time. To see it in images other than my mind makes it more real in the imaginary world of VA.

I recommend reading this if you are a fan of the series. If you have not read it yet. Please read the books first starting with Vampire Academy. Then read the graphic novel's!

Fever Moon Graphic Novel Review

Karen Marie Moning | Fever Moon
Author: Karen Marie Moning
Series: Fever Series Graphic Novel
Adapted by David Lawrence
Illustrated by: Al Rio and Cliff Richards
Star rating: Five stars

This graphic novel by Karen Marie Moning takes place in the middle of Shadowfever. This is part of the book where the Fear Dorcha is stealing part of people's faces. It is up to Mckayla to put an end to this.

I loved the illustration's and the way they brought the character's to life. I loved seeing such important scenes on page. It was done beautifully. The image's though that got me were the ones of where she was being turned priya and then Barron's bringing her back. Yes, there are images. This graphic novel is not for those under the age of 18. Hence the reason for it being in the adult romance section.

I love seeing Barron's on page. Unfortunately sometime's my mind cannot make a clear picture of character's and he is one of those few. I pictured him differently but it fits him.

Another plus regarding this was that Karen also added additional stuff besides the graphic's. She added behind the scene's and character sketches to the end of the book.

I definitely recommend those who are a fan of this series to buy this and get it for your collections. It is a must have!

Book Review of Heart of Gold

Heart of GoldAuthor: Jessica Bird a.k.a J.R. Ward
Category: Romance
Original release date: 2003 by Ivy books
Re-release date: 2012 by Signet Books
Star rating out of 5: 5 stars

This book is the second book J.R. Ward wrote her first book was Leaping Hearts. Eventually she went on to write several other "normal" romance novels before her Black Dagger Brother hood and Fallen Angel series. Don't be discouraged to read these books. When I first saw these books being released I was hesitant at first as well. I love her BDB series and didn't think these books could live up to how I felt about them. The first book I read was Unforgettable Lady (I will try and find my reviews and post this on the site). I fell in love with the book and could wait to get my hands on the next ones.

Now that I have given that small little back story let's focus on the current book!

The book Heart of Gold takes place mainly in the Adirondacks of New York State. The two main characters Carter Wessex who is the states best Archaeologist and Nick Farrell hardheaded businessman. Carter goes to Nick after hearing about the possibility of solving a murder that happened back in the late 1700's and asks for permission to do a dig to unravel the mysteries behind the story. Which leads to love, heartbreak, danger, and reunions.....

Carter Wessex daughter of a famous wealthy businessman. She leaves that life to spend most of her time in the dirt and away from all the fancy parties. Later on in the book we come to learn the reason behind her making these choices. She doesn't trust businessmen like her father which makes this book fun. She is hardheaded and stubborn. Carter is also loyal and protective of those she considers family. When she loves she puts her whole self into it. She clashes a lot with Nick, this makes the book so much fun to read.

Nick is your typical alpha male. Afraid to love and never settles down with one female and always dates the same socialites. He is hardheaded, demanding, do as I say or else. This crumbles when he meets Carter. He is an uncle to his sister's son Cort who lives with him. Later on it's revealed how things ended up the way they did and why he is who he is.

I fell in love with both of these characters. When they first meet it's electric. The banter back and forth had me laughing and it just keeps going throughout the books.

My favorite scene in the book is when Carter goes to Nick for permission to dig on his mountain. Eventually he starts in on her clothing and few other things about her and leads to this line from her...

" No, it's the flashing ROYAL PAIN IN THE ASS sign over your desk."

When I read that I couldn't stop laughing. The main reason is because no one talks to Nick Farrell that way ever. For her to do that is amazing! He has a reputation of being a shark and he tosses people out on their asses for much less than what she said.

Anyway's before I go out all spoil the book for everyone. Give this a chance. It is a great book and all the characters are great very well developed and makes you fall for them instantly. Yes you will get pissed at some of them but that what makes it a great book. When the author makes you feel and see what the characters do!!

Happy reading!

Enraptured Book Review

Enraptured (Eternal Guardians, #4)Author: Elisabeth Naughton
Series: Eternal Guardians
Star Rating out of 5: 5 Stars

Well at first I did not know what to think or feel. I was always intrigued by Orpheus. Especially with his interactions with Isadora. Once I got past Skyla and her hating ways in the beginning and got more into the book that's when I finally started liking her.

I love finally knowing what and who Orpheus is and was. I like seeing that he is more than just the guy everybody hates. They didn't like him because they could never see the real him. It's sad that it took Gryphon to die for everyone to see that he has a heart like they do. Orpheus and Demetrius are similar in so many ways. Though the main way they are similar is the fact they they both feel no one can love an evil person and they both feel they don't have souls that a woman can fall in love with. Everything he does in this book makes you fall for him even harder than in the first and second books. You finally get to see the real loving guy he can be.

Skyla, what to say about little miss. I did not like her in the beginning because she was not telling Orpheus everything she knows. I understand that she was on a mission and for her that always comes first. But what she did to the man in the past and then going to try to pull the same thing on him again. That really made me mad. But finally when they hit the Miso's compound that's when I finally started to like her because she was finally showing the real her. The one who is in love. The one who will not let anything stand in the way. It's sad how Athena and Zeus told her such lies. In the end what she does for Orpheus is the ultimate sacrifice to show him she loved him from the beginning and never forgot.

In the end I enjoyed this book. I can't wait to learn more about Medea and Gryphon!

Stygian's Honor book Review

Stygian's Honor (Breeds, #27)
Author: Lora Leigh
Series: Breeds
Star Rating out of 5: 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book in the end. This story continues pretty much where we left off in Lawe's Justice where they are looking for a cure for Jonas's daughter.

I have to admit I wanted to slap Liza more than I care to admit. No wait punch her is more like it. I don't know how to explain why I felt so much anger toward her. Maybe it's the way she just brushed off Stygian tossed him aside like he was nothing. She should have let him in so he could help her figure stuff out. It would have been easier. I understand that she was confused, hurt, and angry with how her life was messed with but it could have been eased if she just let him in. But in the end she finally and wholeheartedly lets him in. This moment was beautiful in of its self.

I love love love Stygian he kept his distance when she asked even when it's against his nature. He wanted to help her so much but he wanted to be respectful. The love he felt for her you could tell was right off the bat. From the first teasing words to her in the SUV on the way to the hotel in the beginning. Then towards the end everything comes together with these two.

We find out more about Gideon, Honor, Fawn, and Judd. I hope Fawn and Gideon's book is next.

Also in this book we see that Dog is cooking up some scheme. I honestly am trying to figure out if what happened was a distraction to get to Cassie or not. Who knows because after what happened we only learn about Honor and Fawn we don't know what happened with the rest of the hotel as well. We still have to keep in mind there is a breed that is hiding who want's Cassie. She even tries to figure out why she is in town with the rest of them.

Anyway's can't wait for the next book! But Bengal's Heart is still my Favorite sorry Stygian!!

Book Review Crux by Moira Roger's

Crux by Moira Rogers
Author: Moira Roger's
Series: Southern Arcana
Star rating out of 5 stars: 4 stars

When I saw this as a free read on B&N I was skeptical. There are very few free reads that I come across on my own that I enjoy and this was one that I really enjoyed.

The story revolves around Mackenzie who is on the run from a guy she had met a few months prior. He's been stalking and chasing her through city after city. The reasons behind it are for an agenda that is revealed roughly in the middle of the book. Mackenzie finally ends up in New Orleans and gets a job as a bartender in a local bar. Trying to save up for her to move on to the next city she will run too. Instead she meet's the gorgeous Jackson Holt. She is completely in awe by his eyes. As the book goes on it's revealed to us who these character's are. The relationship builds between Kenzie and Jackson sparks fly.

I would reveal more about the book but then I would give everything away. The author had a wonderful way of sucking me right into the book. The details were great I felt like I was there actually experiencing what the characters do. I love the back stories and where she takes it. I can't wait to read the next book.

Were's, Psychics, witch's, oh my.....

Book Review Marly's Choice by Lora Leigh

Marly's Choice
Author: Lora Leigh
Series: Men of August
Star Rating out for 5 stars: Four stars

Let me first off state, IF YOU ARE NOT INTO M/M/M/F M/M/F DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT READ THIS BOOK.

Okay now that I go that out of the way. I enjoyed this book. Not as good as the Nauti Boy Series, but I still liked it. Yes this series did come out prior to Nauti Boys.

The story revolves around Marley who as a child was molested and her mom put her in a place that she thought was safe with the August brother's in Texas. Her mother then started to go on the run trying to draw out the attacker away from Marly. The story picks up with Marly on break from college and going to  her "Grampa Joe's" funeral. Mind you she is not related to the August brother's they just raised her from a child. Throughout the book we see a relationship build between Cade and Marly. Behind that is someone is stalking Marly and they all try to find out who this someone is.

Marly is still a bit young and naive but knows what she wants. She has no problem pushing boundaries with Cade. Eventually all the pent up lust and frustration builds and things go crazy. She knows what he wants and she thought she was willing to give it to him....

Cade a man with a dominate alpha male personality tries his best to stay away from Marly as much as he can but it's hard for him. He has such a strong personality that he buts heads with everyone around him especially when Marly is around.

I don't want to give too much away but besides the sex and trust me it's really more towards the end. Unlike most Lora Leigh books it does not completely dominate it. Yes there is a lot of teasing and build up to the actual main parts. And trust me if you like the M/M/F M/M/M/F IT GETS HOT...

Happy reading!

Very new to this....

Okay. I don't know what to do or how to begin. But let's just start out with a normal post. In the last four years (to the day) I have been reading books non stop. I was never really a big book reader in high school. The first book I ever remember truly reading and loving was Switched by R.L. Stine. This book gave me the chills. I remember reading it and thinking what is going on? It had drawn me into it. Two best friends which the writer believes switched places when in all reality it's something else entirely. I was in sixth grade when I read this. I still have it too.

When I hit my high school years I never read much of anything unless the school assigned it to me. Even then I unfortunately never really cared. It's sad too. I wish now that I would have paid attention and read the books. It wasn't until my senior year and my final high school English class that I fell in love with a book my teacher picked out specifically for me. While everyone else was reading Animal Farm and other selected books. I was given Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book made all my emotions spill. I could not explain it. I read the book in two days. To me that was quick for someone who never gave reading a chance. I felt as if I was the character and living her life. I had some rough times in high school especially with boys. So I felt as if I could relate to the character. Later on I eventually saw the lifetime movie version of this book. It was good but the book was better.

Lovely Bones cover.jpgWhen I gave the book back to my teacher he asked my thought's on the book. After he did that I then was given a second book to read. Here I am on a second book and the rest of the class is still reading their first book. This was back in 2004. Nowadays Who knows what the kids are reading. This second book that I was given is one we all know. Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Again this book took me under four days to read. I cried. I could not believe what was happening. It opened me up to some many emotions. A girl watching her best friend and the guy she liked getting together. Watching everything they were doing. Looking over her father who was constantly trying to find his little girl when all the while the rapist was right next door and her body in the corn field by the house. By now if you haven't read the book you have seen the movie. By the way, I preferred the book over the movie. There is just so much emotion in the book that you just can't see on film.
CoverofLuckybyAliceSebold.jpg

After I graduated high school with the memory of those books in my mind, I went to Barnes and Noble and bought Lucky by Alice Sebold. When I dove into this book I was slammed into a city I knew well. Syracuse, New York, SU campus. This memoir of her took place not 30 minutes from where I lived. Alice went to college at Syracuse University. But for all intents and purposes the names were all changed in the book. It starts off with the perspective of a college girl who was studying late and was walking back to her dorm room when she is attacked and raped. People walk by as it's happening and thought it was people having sex. As the book goes on no one believes her and they all distance themselves. One day she spots her rapist and then puts into motion to get him arrested. This over a couple years time if I remember correctly. Again this book made me angry, sad, happy and it also made me cry. No one should ever have to go through something like that.

It was a long time before I began reading again. I lost interest because I started working and didn't have much time to read. Okay everyone take a guess on what book had me reading again...
Twilightbook.jpg

Answer: Twilight.

Yes, I know how obvious. When I was younger I loved vampires and all the paranormal. I just never was into reading. My boyfriends mom and sister recommended this book to me a few months before I actually read it. I kept telling them I don't read it will be boring. After months of them telling me to read it I decided to give it a try. It took me forever to get past the first four chapters. I was so bored. I thought Bella was boring. As I kept reading I began to get interested in it. I finished the book in three days. In the end I finished the entire series in one week. This series opened me up to many more book series that are much more well written and more complex.

Now I am in the middle of about thirty or more series not including the series that have been completed by the authors. Hopefully I can get a hang of this whole reviewing process and write some reviews for everyone.

This is just my small history of books that have had me interested in reading and the one to finally push me into the world of books.

Until next time :)
